You are dealt two cards and the total sum of the value of the cards gives you your points. Based on the points you have after the first set of cards are dealt you can choose to either accept more card – ‘Hit’, or not accept any more – ‘Stand’. The game ends when either the player or the dealer goes over 21 points or makes a blackjack – which is 21 points.

Spanish 21: Most of the rules are similar to regular blackjack. Some of the variations of the game are that all 10’s are removed from the deck; players can double, split or re-split any pairs including aces; player blackjack made from two cards beats the dealer’s blackjack etc.

Double Exposure blackjack is also similar in terms of the aim of the game and other very basic rules. In this game both of the dealer’s cards are dealt face up; also players are allowed to split only once; dealer wins ties unless the player has a natural blackjack and players win even money if they have a blackjack.

Blackjack switch is also a popular variation of regular blackjack. In this game players are required to play two hands with equal bets. A switch can be made in this game which explains the name. Players can switch the second card of each hand to create a new hand. In this game if the dealer’s hand adds up to 22 it’s a push unless the player has a blackjack.
